I have a 1927 Pierce Arrow series 80. I have tested this carb every way possible. Car starts idles on the choke fuel circuit. It switches to the idle circuit but has no acceleration at all zero. Any other carb I would say the accelerator pump is no good but this does not have one. When I give throttle the engine does not speed up. A little help would be appreciated.

I did a quick search in the website Technical Search Tool for Carb info and got several hits on Series 80 carbs. Type “80” into the Model Box and “Carburetor” into the Search Box. You can play with search terms a little and you may get more hits.

Deborah apparently has an O-3 carb from a Series 81 on her Series 80. I responded to her post on AACA forums with a rather lengthy post with a number of suggestions, including that she find the carb adjustment portion of the Series *81* Operation and Care Manual on our PAS website.
I’ll add here to those suggestions based on VERY hot weather experience at our annual meet in Minden NV last week that she try substituting a known-good 6V coil.
