    I don’t have any information about a Johnston dealership on Broad Street in Philadelphia, but my wife’s grandfather bought his 1930 Pierce 7 passenger at Johnston, Inc., 222 North Hermitage Avenue, Trenton, New Jersey. The Trenton Johnston was also a Nash/Lafayette dealer in the mid 30s. Could that be the Johnston you are looking for?

    I always thought Foss-Hughes was the main Pierce distributor in Philadelphia. My grandfather bought his 1929 EDL there. I have a Philadelphia newspaper ad from 1929 that advertises Foss-Hughes as the “Pierce Arrow distributor for over 23 years” Foss-Hughes was located at 21st and Market. The ad also lists the following nearby dealers:

    Academy Motor Sales and Service, Inc. – 125 West Chelton Avenue, Germantown

    Rogers Motors, Jenkintown, Pennsylvania

    Frankford Sales Company, 4821 Frankford Avenue, Frankford

    Frankford and Germantown are both parts of the City of Philadelphia.
