    One coil on my 1933 1247 has a weaker spark than the other. I would like to test the coils to see if they are ok. I am told that to do this you need to look up the resistance specifications for that specific coil and if the reading is even slightly out of range, replace the coil. Does anyone have a way to look up the resistance spec.’s Thanks Doug Vogel

    I need to add that according to the tun up sheet I have the coils are Delco-remy No. 537-E Oaks “Hershey”” co-incidental switch. Thanks Doug Vogel”

    Most any automotive electric shop can test the coils.

    Thanks Paul, I talked to a local NAPA dealer and he looked up a 1936 6 volt coil which listed the resistance as 1.14 to 1.26 . It was not a Pierce Arrow but all he could find listed. When I took a reading on my coils they were 1.1 and 1.2 . I will call a local auto electric shop and see if they have a listing. Thanks again, Doug Vogel

    An automotive electric shop should have equipment that can test a coil.
