We are packing up to head to Minden Nv. which is about 600 miles, and just had to switch to an open flatbed trailer as the enclosed trailer my brother was going to loan me can’t be driver out from Calif. in time to make it back to the meet from Idaho where I live. Our neighbor has offered his gooseneck flatbed, which is open. My question is can I cover the 1933 seven passenger sedan with something to protect it, or would that just rub the paint off due to the flapping in the wind. Thanks Doug Vogel

The only thing touching the car must be a material that strongly adheres to the surface. You may have seen new cars being delivered with white plastic covering body surfaces. Any covering which can move will effectively sand the paint while you drive.

I prefer towing with a vehicle which has a larger frontal area than the trailer and car so fewer bugs and dirt collect on the prize.
