I must admit that this one is about as bad as mine, but he has wood and is looks like, Buffalo wheels.
$30K is also a bit steep for a pile of parts.
Looks like some sort of coupe.
Yikes, that’s rough….he’s very optimistic about value
based on the front fenders it also seems to be a 1928 series 81. way high on price.
George,
Yeah, like $28K too high.
Peter
Ha ha. . . I’m glad you said that.
I was going to quip that maybe it’s worth $3000.
I feel better now.
I doubt that there’s much useable in that pile at all.
The ‘car’ is a collection of parts. It appears to be an attempt to make a 1928 Series 81 Roadster. As George wrote, it has S81 front fenders, and the rear sheet metal looks like a S81 roadster.
BUT the cowl, while it is a S81, is from a sedan of some sort. A Roadster or Touring car cowl has holes in the top for the windshield posts. And, there is more of a ‘sweep’ of the top of the dash as it turns down and back to the door. This cowl has no sweep, and no holes for mounting the windshield..
Another thing I noticed is that the door opening is as wide as a sedan door, not narrow like the door on a Roadster.
Yes, it has Buffalo Wire wheels, but they appear to be in rough shape, and will need a lot of money spent on them to respoke and rebuild the wheels.
I think less than $5K, depending on seeing more photos. hopefully the missing parts are there.

As a person who buys and sells cars I find it really frustrating to see cars so highly priced but so poorly represented. It is only through the collective knowledge of people like those on sites like this that the true identification of these cars reveal them selves. There are many uneducated buyers out there with to much money and poor decision making skills that get stuck with these cars and then try to have a shop put them together.
It really is buyer beware out there.
He has reduced the price to $12,500 or best offer. Reality is slowly sinking in, I guess.
Hey Gents,
So if one of you is up for the project, check out the Emporium, as I have a very nice steering wheel for that basket case!
Peter
Down to $10,000 or best offer.
