Where can I get rubber mat material to make running board mats for my Pierce-Arrow? or does anyone have any?
Thanks
I don’t know what is correct for your year, but this guy seems to have some options. the second is an ebay guy.
He even has a listing for a ’40 Pierce Arrow, I guess it would be hard to argue about whether or not it is correct.
The 1940 PA listing is an error. The picture is my 1703 (i.e. 1937) 147″ wb running board which an exact repro of the originals which I sent to them. It is beautifully done and cannot be approached in authenticity with any of the continuous extrusions available elsewhere.”
Glenn, the Pierce Arrow Foundation offers excellent quality, recently made 66″x18″” mats that are identical in pattern to PA for 33-38. You will likely have to trim the mat to match your application. They are $600 a pair and proceeds benefit the PA Museum at the Gilmore in MI.
Let me know if you’re interested and I can offer next steps.

Glenn, Bob does have fine mats and his path is definitely the way to proceed if you budget $3000-$4000 for them.
Glenn, please see responses recently posted-thanks

There have been problems with the source north of the border. We recently showed a Pierce at Pebble Beach, and decided to use the rubber sold by the club/museum. A forty year judge at Pebble, commented our restoration was the best he had ever seen on a Pierce(which made me swell with pride!) and we used the club’s rubber. There were ten cars in our class, American Classic Open. We on an award, and I think that says volumes about the look and quaility of the running board rubber offered through our wonderful PAS. Ed
Ed,
As a P-A Museum Trustee, you should correctly identify the parts source as the Pierce-Arrow Foundation and Museum. During my years as Treasurer of PAS I tried to interest the Society Board in doing reproductions, but they were unwilling to take the risks of doing so. Many thanks to John Wozney for managing our reproduction parts for the Museum.
I’m glad we found a way to serve the PAS members in this manner and raise a bit of money for the Museum in the process. As I have stated in my recent reports to the PAS Board, our focus is on serving the interests of PAS members whether by promotion of the marque, enhancing the status value of Pierce-Arrow vehicles, or providing much needed parts to keep cars on the road.
The Society and the Museum are indeed partners in serving PAS members.

Dave,
Does the museum have a 3D scanner that can make STL files of parts like door handles and window cranks? Jim
Hi Jim!
No we don’t, but if someone were to donate one we could probably put it to good use. I’ll add that to our ‘wish list’.
