    I need to rewire my 1702 coupe. Apparently, Y n Z, Rhode Island Wiring, and Narragansett do not make a loom for my model. Can anyone tell me if a loom for a 1936 1601 8 cyl coupe (which is made by Y n Z) will work for my car? What are the difference between a loom for an 1937 8 cylinder coupe and a 12 cylinder coupe? I would think nothing except maybe a coil wire or some such. Presumably, there would be extra wires for a sedan, but would a loom for a sedan work? Would the wire lengths for a sedan be different than for a coupe? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    Position of startix and battery cables will be different. Body harness and dash should be very close. Wires to the distributor are different, overall they should be close. Ed

    Steve, the horn wires are also in a different location, I would check to see if they have a harness for a 12 EDL, it should be the same up front, the only difference would be in the length of the harness to the rear of the car which could be easily hidden inside the frame rail. There is a listing in the YnZ catalog for a 12 Pierce.

    YnZ did the harness for my 1703. Talk to the owner (Gene Zdunowski) about my specific harness. At my request,he routed the horn wires to under the front (vice under the hood), added wires for turn signals and put in a separate grounding wire for each component (lights, horn relay, etc.) rather than relying on chassis ground connections. I also had him put in a wire for an electric fuel pump near the front end of the left rear spring. His original pattern was Eric Rosenau’s 1803, so I had him delete the wiring to the license plate light (center of the trunk lid) – its in the left taillight housing.

    I used a Rhode Island package for my 1247 EDL, then later used a Y&Z for my ’41 Cad. The Y&Z required much less hassle to get things completed.
