I would appreciate any suggestions for a decent tow company, either private or commercial, to take a car from the Boston region to approx Hagerstown, MD. This car needs to be winched on and off, as its not running right now. What makes this more difficult is that my neighborhood, while level ground, has very tight turns and no cul-de-sacs to aid driving. I have had Passport deliver before, but those cars all drove under their own power. Even so, it was something for that low-slung trailer to get into the neighborhood. I might be a good bit better off with just a private guy who tows one vehicle at a time.
Try freighter jim hauls. I don’t have his number, just Google it. He has a good reputation and does door to door service with an enclosed hauler. He goes all over the country and is reasonable. If he won’t be in your area for a while you can go with any of the quality ones like Passport, reliable, etc.. just get a local guy with a flat bed to pick it up and move it the few miles where it can be picked up by the big trailer. It doesn’t add much cost but makes it easier. Been there, done that from my old residence.
Thanks Jim. I just looked him up and have sent a email, will attempt to call later,
Here is some more info on Freighter Jim from the web ;

I will let you know if he is able to help, otherwise its most likely going to be Passport.
Open or closed carrier. When does it have to arrive. It’s possible I may be able to do it. Es
