I have always liked the body style of a club sedan and am hopeful someone can point me in the direction of a well preserved/restored car for sale (8 or 12). I wonder if the 1601 club sedan owned by the late Jim Morris of Santa Fe,NM was ever sold and would appreciate any information as to this car’s status. I should note that I am quite fond of the ’35 club sedan(The Sting is one of my all time favorite movies)and would consider one of these as well. Please be discreet in responding as my wife thinks I’m done with old cars for a while since it’s been only three weeks since I sold my truck at Barrett Jackson.
Hi Jim!
Jim Morris donated his 1601 and 1702 to the Pierce-Arrow Museum. If you ever get to Michigan and visit the Museum, perhaps we could meet and take one or both out for a drive. Both are excellent examples of Pierce-Arrow’s final automotive efforts. The 1601 is presently receiving some much needed maintenance from Greg Long, but will return later this year.
As a long time 1601 owner & fan, I find Jim’s 1601 Club to be one of the best driving ones I have driven. Good luck in your search.

Hello Jim.
While I’m not a fan of the styling of the 1936 and later Pierce Arrow cars, I have to admit that they are probably the best driving of all the Pierce Arrows I’ve had the pleasure of owning or operating. The possible exceptions are the later teens cars. They are just amazing on the roll. But their big drawback is their rear-wheel only brakes..
The combination of a factory overdrive transmission, excellent vacuum-boosted brakes, a very stiff, rigid ‘X’-crossmember chassis, and improved steering geometry, all add up to making the ’36 and later cars excellent highway cars..

Jim,
If a 1934 Club Brougham interests you, I’d consider selling mine.
