Might anyone know the factory delivery weight of the subject car style?

Hello Tom, My Series 31, the little brother to your Series 51 is listed as weighing 4300 pounds.

The larger Series 51 is listed as weighing 5100 pounds.. I looked back several model years, and the weights for both the 38hp, and the 48hp models only changed by a hundred pounds..

The differences, which account for the weight difference are the wheelbase, 134inch for the Series 31, and 142inch for the Series 51. The body and drive line would also have to be longer, and there is also the longer, physically larger 48hp engine, larger radiator, etc..

I have not taken my Series 31 over any scales yet.. but will eventually. It is a touring car with jump seats like your car.. What mystifies me is how Pierce could describe the back seat as capable to seat 3 people.. I thought my car was a ‘6-passenger’ model, but i’ve seen that only the 48 hp cars offered a ‘6-passenger’ body. So my car must be a ‘7-passenger’ version. Apparently a ‘6-passenger’ rear seat has a fixed center armrest, which my car does not have.

    Hope this helps.

    Greg Long.

I just received the latest PAS mailing, and am filling out the registration sheet for the PAS Annual Meet in Rohnert Park this July. I’m hoping to bring my Series 31 to the Meet, are you planning on attending the Annual Meet? and bringing your Series 51 ??

I know George Teebay will have his 1918 C5 B4 Dual-Valve 48hp Touring car at the Meet.. You and I would be in good company if you bring your car and attend the meet !!

    Greg..

    Thank you Greg for responding.

I am new to the PAS and don’t yet have a Pierce Arrow. I am looking for the model I was asking about, but would also be interested in a 38 (31). The weight question was more to see if my car trailer would accommodate the load.

    Seems that it will.

I am planning to attend the Summer meet in Rohnert Park. I look forward to meeting you.

    Bye fro now

    Tom

I was also the back seats in our 1916 Touring car. I guess people had skinnier butts in the early years before fast foods?

I own a 1915 C-3 Five Passenger Touring Car and the weight is about 4500 pounds with the wheelbase being 134 inches. You need to allow for the bumper in front and the top and body in the rear. The car takes up most of the depth of a standard two car garage.
