    HI all,

Any suggestions on where to get the relay that keeps the power to the gauges from fluctuating?

    Thanks in advance. Rick

Rick, The relay behind the dash on 1929’s is a circuit breaker. If it keeps going open, then you have a grounded wire. Start by removing the wires from the steering wheel side of the amp gauge one by one and see if you can keep 6 volts on the output side of the relay. Sounds like a headlight or tail light wire…or? Thanks Karl,

The men at YnZ, who built the harness, said current limit relay. Is this differant? Lol. Im just the parts guy. A bit beyind me.

    Thanks, Rick

If you have a short circuit the current limiter buzzes loudly with a fairly low growl. Do what Karl said to find the source of the short.

    William,

Karl called it a circuit breaker, you called it a limiter. Same thing????? I have to ask the mechanic if it is missing altogether.

Rick, yes in 2018 we would call it a circuit breaker, in ’29 they call it a limiter. When this does the job,the result is you hear a “buzzing””. It is limiting current so you don’t damage anything with a dead short. the ’29 has no fuses to blow. Hope this helps. Karl”

    Karl,

Thanks. I guess Im showing my lack of electrical knowledge. Better safe than sorry. Thank you.

I guess the mechanic said the limiter is needed. Where do I find one? Do they make them new?
