Would anyone care to suggest a suitable exhaust gasket, between the manifold to the downpipe, should be simple, but if I walk into Autozone, etc..they want the part number or car, which isn’t going to work.

Actually, most of them have gotten rid of their previous selection of gaskets, they usually tell me to go to eBay or something.

    Olsen’s carries them. http://www.olsonsgaskets.com

I stay away from Autozome, their business model is to hire the ones that could not make it at McDonalds

    Thanks Jim,

Without taking it apart, it looks like a 2 1/4 dia with just under 3 inch for bolt hole spacing (74 mm)

For the S80, you can use a Chev 350 flange gasket if you enlarge the holes outward slightly–and they’re CHEAP! Take your old gasket in and match it up, and you’ll see.

Jim, I did have a 1969 Caprice 2-door hardtop from 1996-2001, from an elderly neighbor who thought I should have it when she stopped driving. It was what I called “a really big Binaca,” with a trunk I called “the Grand Canyon.”

But I found the gasket in 1994 when I took the old gasket into a parts house and tried to match it up. Necessity is the mother of invention!

    Better late than never….

I found a gasket at Advance Auto Parts, a Mr. Gasket, header collector, #76.

    A 2 pack costs 10 dollars.

A small amount of hole enlargement is needed, but not much.
