I am finally, after years, bringing the 826 out of storage and to my new garage. I was looking over the body and found a very light green color on some of the hidden parts. In ’33 it looks like there were 2 greens, Brewster, which is common to Model A Fords, and Evergreen.

Does anyone have an Evergreen car and what does the color look like.

    Thank you in advance.

    Bill –

I do not have an Evergreen car but remember seeing some 1930s color charts in the AACA Library and Research Center in Hershey that describe the pigment components needed to make them.

I had an evergreen 1932 Series 54 Coupe. It ‘s dark green, as one would expect. The 1970’s paint job was said to exactly match the factory color. You can see photos of the car in the PAS annual meet photo sections for most of the last ten years. Ed

    Edgar and Brooks,

    Edgar,

I remember your car well and that is a what I was looking for. Brooks, I will check the library.

The color on this car is closer to willow green. I don’t think it was a repaint because it is behind the dash. Maybe a customer requested color?

    Thanks for your help.

In the Ditz-Lac catalog from the 1930’s, IM-975 is Evergreen. It looks almost black.

Up north I have an evergreen chip from 1931, it’s almost a match for my old car. Sometimes paint samples are not stable, and change color by oxidation. To be honest, I always take the factory color and alter it the way I want, Pierce offered any color you wanted in the day………as I prefer to do now. As long as the colors are era appropriate, I’m fine with it. Yes I painted by 1602a very bright blue twenty five years ago, and I still like it.
