Scored this old wrench this morning…

Nice, I’ve found those wrenches to be not only nice to look at, but very functional, for hubcaps et al….it’s a Crescent wrench in disguise!!

Excellent for the eccentric on fans as well, but check the width of the jaws.

    Very nice find.

Unfortunately for me, my splash pans were removed sometime before the 60’s and I have not acquired another set.

Heck, I didn’t even know the car should have had a set until I really paid attention to other Pierce Arrows in the 90’s. :)

Before that, it was just the way the car had always been.

Yep, these Cars have been through a lot over the years. It’s amazing any survived!

    Randy,

In the past few years SOMEONE reproduced the splash-pan set for Series 80 cars.

I post this to get people thinking about who it was.

They are interesting to install! HA!

However, they are functional once done properly.

Thanks, Peter. I needed a center pan for my Series 80. Greg rode to the rescue yet again, and provided a serviceable used item which I forwarded to Sean Ornduff to use as a pattern to form a duplicate.

The wrench was found in a 1931 Series 43. The pans are intact and with a little straightening and paint, will look great.

If I remember correctly, the passenger side engine pan on a Model 43 also holds part of the air cleaner, so it missing would be a problem!

When I removed the engine from our ’34 V-12 I found this Pierce wrench INSIDE the frame rail. It was covered in gook but I was digging out all the dirt as part of the cleaning process and it popped up!
