This is an interesting car. Serial #187 it is clearly a 1904. My 1904 is serial #170, and Pat Craig’s 1903 is serial # 127.
Looking deeply, this car looks honest and authentic, with some unique characteristics. The body is wood and shows some significant cracks that will need repair. This car was on the Horseless Carriage website for quite a while at
$125K and did not sell. I’m creating a registry of Motorette/Stanhopes and have this one in the listing. I’d appreciate any other information on other cars people could send me.
Richard, I would think you have the info on the 1903 Stanhope engine I own. Marked “Pierce 6”, it’s engine number 107. I’m told one can remove mounting bracket and there’s a car number stamped there, but have not done so yet.
This car was recently for sale on the AACA website.
