    Hi, reporting an experience I had today which might be of some interest to the Group: A Caterpillar tech was checking one of our emergency generators for a fault and we started conversing. To get right to the point: he has a tool box which was his grandfather’s and it has a Pierce-Arrow identification plate screwed to it. Though somewhat battered, the number on the plate is I50I 659. That is: 50 between two capital i .

    Any comments?

    I found in the old service bulletins that this was a 137 inch wheelbase Car, assembled during June 1931. The owner of the number plate was surprised that much infonwascavailable.
