Just to complete the circle, and show one how small the car collecting “community” can get…

Many of you know the story, 1929 Coupe in Virginia, for sale for $5K, it was two hours from me, didn’t sell for that but more…and I was in line to see it but some great friends of mine beat me to it!

So, they got the car, cleaned it up, added parts to complete and fixed parts that were broken, got it running, and ended up with a very decent coupe.

They then took to Hershey, and sold it in an hour. That’s a great story in itself!

I have a 1911 Hupmobile for sale, fellow from Tennessee at Hershey was interested and called me each day I was there, arranging to see it on his way back down I-81.

He calls me, 10 miles from town, and says he’d like to look at it, but has a Pierce on his trailer so can’t bring it home immediately. “Oh, a 1929 coupe?” I ask…silence, then he says, “How’d you know THAT?”.

Small world, us collectors….oh, and he hasn’t bought the Hupp yet, though he’s interested…

Oh, and by the way, the new owner of the Pierce coupe is also the owner of the Marathon factory building … and owns 4 Marathon cars, too, of which there are only a few more extant…

Wow, what a small circle it is! Thanks for the fun story David.
