I am installing the windshield shortly on my ’35 Club sedan – it should be the same as 34-38 closed cars. I have the replacement outer windshield rubber extrusion from Steele that fits between the stainless metal fame and the body. It looks like the inside flange of the extrusion will have to be cut to go around the inside corners, but regardless trying to wrestle this stuff either into the body channel or around the stainless frame looks challenging. I am wondering if anyone has any tips.
I have two theories at the moment. 1) super glue the rubber extrusion onto the outside of the stainless windshield frame and then try to pull the frame with rubber extrusion into the body channel (with a bead of caulk to seal).
2) Try to use the windshield frame halves before installing the glass (upper and Lower) as tools to work and hold the rubber extrusion into the body channel with caulk and let it set, then remove the stainless frame and install the glass, install the windshield.
