    Was the center hood hinge on a ’35 845 chromed originally? I posted yesterday that I didn’t have the original hood center hinge but it turns out I do but unclear whether it was chromed or not. I bought a stainless steel repro from Irv Blonder 25+ years ago with the notion that it was to be polished rather than painted. My original was either painted or all chrome has flaked off.

    The SS repro looks like it might work but doesn’t trap the hinge loop as securely as the original. Does anyone have any experience with the Blonder repro SS hood hinge strip?

    Hi Jim – yes it was chromed originally. It’s the shaft of the arrow!
