I have two of these wood pieces in my boxes of parts for my ’35 Pierce. I am thinking they are snubbers to set the sidemount spare tire side-to-side position in the well because the center-to-center hole distance matches the bolt holes attaching to the sidemount well-to-frame support piece. There is also a pair of rusted steel plates with holes with the same hole to hole dimension.
Can someone confirm or deny this? There are four small holes in the corners that appear to be pilots for wood screws but I see no corresponding holes in the sidemount well. I suspect these might have been made by a previous owner (ca 1965) and not original pieces.
Any help appreciated!
