Thanks for any insights/opinions… How does this casting size-up to the originals, and those included in Williams’ Motoring Mascots of the World? (I don’t have the volume on hand.)
Well, let’s just say you won’t have to worry about not telling that reproduction from an original, but there have been some very good reproduction ones made which are quite hard to see the difference until you have an original right next to them.
That has to be the worst one yet…

The bow thickness appears more prominent than the original(s), along with the facial features…the eyebrow arc and broad nose seem to differ.
Sotheby’s has an original for a compare, as do other auction houses, etc.
Yup, there is a lot wrong with that reproduction… it is not even close to an original.
