I recently inherited a 1932 Pierce Arrow Mdl 54. I noticed that the positive cable is attached to the chassis and the negative cable goes to the starter solenoid is this correct? Thanks so much for any info. I feel like a fish out of water with this car.

As was the case with most early cars, your Pierce is a “Positive Ground” and what you describe is correct.

Bob,
Do you have an Owners Manual for that car? They contain a lot of information about the operation and care of the car. A digital download is available under publications. https://pierce-arrow.org/members/owners-manuals/
