Much appreciate info on how to empty all the water out of the engine cooling system (Radiator/ block) Winter is coming and don’t want it to freeze up. I see a pep cock at the bottom of the lower Rad hose but not sure it will drain all the water out of the cooling system. I assume there is a block drain plug somewhere. I did find one at the back of the engine on the left side, I’m not sure if that is a water drain plug or not. I inherited vehicle and trying to figure out whats what. Lots of other question about the engine parts. I’m attaching some pictures of items mentioned. Any info on how to get all the water out of the vehicle would be great!

Thanks again so much for your help!

You are correct. The petcock at the bottom of the radiator hose will drain most of the block, and the plug on the back of the block will drain the rest. A word of caution, after removing that rear plug, be sure to run a heavy wire into the opening to make sure it’s clear of the sludge and debris that usually collects back there so it can truly drain.
