Of Blasdell, entered into rest on July 24, 2024. Beloved husband of the late Alice (nee Dorge) Sands; devoted father of Robert P. Sands, Jr., Julie Curtin, Eric (Belinda) Sands, Debra (Duran) Gomez and Kristine (Colin) Brennan; cherished grandfather of Kathryn (Cole), Robert III (Amanda), Jonathan, Liam, Conlan, Aidan, Hannah, Dylan, Phoebe (Josh), Veda (Amory), Silas and Suki; loving son of the late Marcelino and Rose Sanz-Luis; dear brother of Rosemary (Ken) Parot, the late Dolores (late John) Sabatowski and the late John (late Kathleen) Sanz-Luis. Also loved by many friends. A dedicated member of the Pierce-Arrow Society for over fifty years, Bob is hailed as a “legend” by fellow Pierce-Arrow enthusiasts. He devoted countless hours to meticulously restoring his cars and cherished every opportunity to share his knowledge and expertise. Bob’s impressive Pierce-Arrow collection remains a testament to his passion for these elegant luxury antique cars once manufactured in Buffalo. Bob was a US Army Veteran and dedicated employee of Bethlehem Steel for over 40 years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Buffalo.
