The U.S. government designed a truck for military use in WWI. This was called the Liberty Truck. These trucks were built by several automotive manufacturers in the U.S. Among these was Pierce-Arrow. Considering the data on the brass badge, this may well be a surviving Liberty Truck that was shipped to France. To the best of my knowledge, there was no indication on the Liberty Trucks of which company built them.
