I thought I had answered this question but now am not so sure. Although the numbers indicate I have a 1926 I saw somewhere that the frame in the rear had three openings. The gauge on the left, which I need, the valve in the middle and filler on the right for 1925 ( which is what mine has).. and the 1926 has only two with gauge and valve on left and filler on right for 1926. Does anyone know?
Maybe they changed frames during the production year?
Hi Jim, double check the frame and engine numbers and post them in a reply message.
The 1925 cars had a gas gauge on the left [one hole in the frame pan, then the reserve switch and fuel pickup in the middle, [second hole in frame pan] then on the right side, the filler neck, it was a round hole in a 1925.
A 1926 and 27 had one hole, on the right side, it was oblong or elongated, the fuel pickup, gas gauge and filler neck were all combined together.
Unless your serial numbers show that your car is a very early 1926, I’d say you need to check the stamped numbers on the frame, sometimes they get mis-read an 8 looks like a 3, or a 5 looks like a 6 etc..
If you have three holes in your rear frame pan, then I’d say it’s a ’25..
The frame is identical for all body styles.
