James, thanks for the additional photos. Your Car had vanities on each side in the rear and the one on the right side had the lighter; correct?
It seems unlikely I will find an original but it is fun to search for one; it gives one purpose when visiting flea markets, Hershey, et al. Probably someone could create a passable replacement if desired, but as my Car’s mounting points have been upholstered over, it is not obvious anything is missing and it will have to do for now (“Oh! The Shame!””).
This became an interesting thread.”
Did the vertical cigar lighter have a protective cap on the lighter head (hot end) when not in use?
Randy,
You are correct. 2 vanities and the lighter on the right. I could take measurements of the screw placement in relation to the window, door jamb etc. if you like. However, not sure how they might differ from the 2 -door.
James
Hopefully I can download the picture. This is a shot of the left side vanity from my ’29 Club Brougham. The interior is all original. It even has the mirror with cover. Pierce really did a nice job with the faux wood paint.
Here are some more vanities
Update: I attach a couple of pics of the driver’s side vanity from a 1925 Series 80 which was sold at the Branson auction in April 2017. This car appeared to possibly have the original upholstery material as it was a little less than perfect and had been partially covered in clear vinyl, as to preserve it.
This car is offered at MotoExotica in St Louis now.
