Very original car with extensive work performed over the last 3 years. The sale price doesn’t cover the cost of the work done, let alone the cost of buying the car. Odometer shows 9,644 miles and this appears to be correct based on condition and known history. There is a service sticker on the door from 1962 that reads 5,062 miles. I purchased the car with 8,0XX miles and never had an issue in over 1,600 miles of driving. The car ran the Gilmore tour in Michigan in 2022, a few local small tours and regular driving. Can easily cruise at 50-55mph since the engine is well balanced. Never overheats and maintains good oil pressure even when hot. Radiator was recored at some point with a tube type but the outside still has the honeycomb showing so it looks original.
Since buying the car the original engine has been rebuilt, new Stainless valves from Egge, NOS aluminum (with steel insert), rings, pistons, new Babbitt, head & intake & exhaust surfaced. New Silvertowne tires, new wool carpeting, new brake and clutch pads, ignition switch rebuilt, new cloth wiring under dash and engine compartment. Battery is 2 years old. Prior to my ownership the brakes were totally redone, new lining, aluminum shoes were bead blasted and the car stops extremely well and straight.
No rust or body damage. The Burgundy paint is original, hood is perfect, the doors and rear and still shiny but has cracking in the paint, very presentable for its age. The sides of the cowl are flaking with about 75% of the paint till there. The black on the fenders is not that good, repainted at some point and some of the original is still there. Paint over the gas tank is really poor condition.
Interior had the seat reupholstered, correct material and very nice but not a perfect job. New wool carpeting. Oil pressure gauge, ammeter, speedometer, horn, wipers and dashlight work properly. Clock is not functional.
Runs and drives extremely well, shifting in not is not an issue, exhaust is quiet and in great condition, front pipe is covered in header wrap. Vacuum fuel pump works. Everything is correct on the car. Found another Pierce and one has to go to make room.
Pictures and videos available upon request. The car will be at Hershey. Space RCH42, C4K9
