I am looking for a little help on some leaks that I want to take care of. The rear differential cover has a small leak that I want to fix but have not been able to find any bolt torque info on the site for putting it back together. The water pump packing is also seeping and I would like to replace it. Does anyone know the proper packing type seal material that would be used to reseal it?

    Thanks in advance

    Jim,

Here is a torque chart from American Bolt. It is a start.

I use some purple anaerobic sealer made by Loctite. It’s not silicone in the normal sense, and you don’t gloop it all over everything, but it really helps the gasket to seal.

Restoration Supply Co has an excellent graphite string for packing the water pump. Link to http://www.RestorationStuff.com
