And here’s a copy & paste link to the listing dealer’s website for more photos and his asking price of $94,900. (with the rear seat clock missing , no less…) http://www.motoexotica.com/inventory/listing/1937-pierce-arrow/

At the end of March, Moto-Exotica listed a car on e-Bay which caught my attention — a 1938 Chrysler Imperial. Very handsome and well done cars like that always get the gears turning, if only to prevent them from rusting.

Moto-Exotica posted a video of the car being driven, and the video was rather odd. The car was driven by some unsavory character who made several off color comments. The video closed showing the car sitting outside their office, camera on the front seat apparently, and some bratty teenager getting into the car to drive it away. The kid throws his stakeboard onto the front seat, utters clearly audible vulgarities about his employers or the people in charge, and zooms the car away. I was aghast.

I posted the link to the video on the AACA website and my question about what was going on with the video. The video on the eBay link was quickly taken down yet not before others voiced their opinion. I’ve included the AACA link to the discussion. My point is, whether is was deliberate or not — and I’m sure it was not — would you buy from a dealer who has people like that under his employ and driving the cars which you might buy? Would you eat at a restaurant if you knew the chef cooked meat that fell on the floor or made hamburger out of other customer’s leftovers?

Frankly, I don’t care what they have for sale, I wouldn’t buy a car from them. And why would someone with a fine Pierce Arrow sell it to or consign it to a dealer, any dealer not just these jerks, without giving PAS members a shot at it, or at least run an add somewhere to sell it independantly? But we’ve had this discussion before.
