Ed, Bob and Diane,
Thank you for the brake booster information. I will lube it up before I take the car out for it’s first drive. Although the engine runs well, there are still many minor adjustments and fixes to be made before the car is really drivable.
The large vacuum line under the hood mounted to the firewall has a screw off top. I was told many years ago that two ounces of steam oil, or neatsfoot oil could be poured there. Then the vacuum would bring it into the power brake vacuum cylinder. Is this possible?
Tony,
The screw-off top is on the vacuum check valve. Oil added here would free up and help seal the check disc. The intake manifold vacuum draws air out of the system allowing atmospheric pressure to operate the brakes. All air flow is towards the engine, so the answer is no.
This body is almost a copy of the 1935 and on LeBaron Lincoln coupes, simply lacking the faux top of the Lincolns.
Very pretty car, I think.
