    Hi all,

Has anyone every seen one of these step plates? Does anyone actually have one for sale or is willing to let go for a few weeks to get cast? This pic is out of an original accessorie catalog Thanks, Rick

They have been made in the past. I had the pattern about 5 years ago. If I still have it and can find it I will let you know. Ed

I would be interested to know which cars used these step plates.

Ooops! Meant to attach photo of my Pierce – not me! This is not a dating site LOL

Careful, your Freudian slip might be showing in that picture! “Nice original body” comments to come, I’m sure…..

Personally I think you’re correct, Philomena, to NOT put them on the car. The less distractions the better, and let the Pierce class show through!

Hi Ladies & Gentlemen. As a Pierce-Arrow newbie in the last couple of years

My 25 cents worth—Dressing up our car is VERY hard to resist!! I am GUILY Your Honor!! Especially as the usually quoted “You could order anything” is the default excuse. What I notice is that after passing thru a number of owners & sometimes 2 or 3 restoration cycles over the decades, previous owners & us tend to want to make OUR car individual from the “run of the mill”. & in so doing end up with all the usual doodahs etc.& ending up being JUST like all the others! This does not apply to only Pierce-Arrow owners. Hundreds of we modern owners all tend to want the SAME options–Wire wheels, running board lights, spot lights, hot & cold running water, etc. even when our car was totally original without them. When new I suspect that the choice made by buyers were much more conservative. If you took a cross sectional survey of what was in reality purchased in the 30’s the Doodads & striking color schemes would have been in only a small minority overall. Nowadays our tastes are MODERN & formed by our friends in the old car movement & seeing modern restorations “in the metal”. And let’s be honest IT LOOKS GOOD!!! There are some wonderful examples of ORIGINAL cars in our PAS for reference–take advantage of this rare resource & have a good objective look at them before “upgrading”. Just a thought. Cheers Jak.
