Just bought a ’32 Club Brougham and it is missing the keys the ignition, door and rear spare. Any suggestions on how o remove the hubcap for the spare? What is the blank # for the ignition? With a blank I can make one to fit.

    Thanks…

Jim, I’m sorry I forgot to go through my pile of Yale and Pierce Keys to see If I had one that would fit your lock.

I’ll see if I can narrow down the pile of keys to ‘possible’ ones.. and mail you a pile of them..

    Jim,

The keys you need should be identical for all locks aboard your car, unless someone has changed one or more. Try removing the door lock cylinder which is the easiest, and take it to your local locksmith. He can cut a new key for it, and with luck, it will also fit your ignition and spare. Worked for me.

Tom, your answer is spot on. :)

I took my door lock assembly to an old school locksmith and he was able to cut a key for it no problem.

He did kind of scratch his head when I told him it was for a ’29 Pierce Arrow but he found a blank that worked great.

And I forgot to add – Jim please post some pictures of your new Pierce.

She looks lovely in the one photo you posted.

    Congrats on the new Pierce!

Pierce favored the Yale Junior lock series. For blanks, try eBay seller autonut2 who is in OH if I recall.

More often than not, the hub cap is not locked in place, just pop it off, if your lucky it will have a factory lock, not a modern one, so the blanks will be the same. A GOOD lock smith can easily make the keys if you bring him the car to his shop. I had a set done this way in May, and they made all the keys in place, for less than one hundred dollars. It’s much easier for them to work on the car in their shop, it’s worth the effort. Disconnect the battery while it’s there, they are not car people and may drain the system accidentally.

    Jim,

BTW, I just MAY have a spare lock-core and key that will fit, but you will need to contact me with photos and dimensions.

I may have the key codes for your lock. Also, Koehinger Lock & Safe ( in business 100+ years), Fort Wayne, In. has many of the key codes on file for cars starting in the 1920’s.
