Hello all. As many of you know, our fellow PAS member and friend Steve Rossi writes a column each issue for this AACA magazine. In this recent issue he references our The Arrow editor Roger Smith’s Series 16 – Model 1 article of The Arrow describing the demise of the P-A company as an opening page to Steve’s article about auto plants “from here, to gone” As always a good and interesting Rossi read.

Henry,
I am sure it was a typing slip, but as you know, Roger Sherman is the Esteemed Editor of the PAS publication, The Arrow.
You must have been thinking of either Roger Smith, the star of “77 Sunset Strip”” or Roger Smith the Chairman and CEO of General Motors.
OOPS!
Peter”
It is funny you bring up Roger Smith from GM. He was a central figure in one of the exam questions in the Marketing class for my MBA some 35 years ago. I remember seeing him quoted as saying that GM didn’t need to do marketing studies to determine what the American consumer wanted in a car. On the contrary, GM would produce what the American public needed. This the era of the Vega, remember? As I said in my answer, clearly, his statement was not a highlight for GM. Guess I was right, GM has been losing market share since then.
Thank you Peter and Bob and Melanie, and others. I meant our esteemed Roger Sherman, not Roger Smith. I will now review everything else I did yesterday. I know my friends will understand.
Stay loose and keep moving, Henry
