I realize it’s a simplistic question, I just don’t have a wiring diagram at hand.

A 1934 840, is it positive ground? thanks dc

A 1934 Model 840A is, indeed, a positive ground system.

Thank you….this has to do with a clock being repaired….dc

Related question: If the battery cables were connected the other (i.e. wrong) way, would anything still work? Would anything be damaged?

If hooked up reverse polarity, a Pierce will still start and run.

The generator will not charge, and it is possible to damage the generator and cut-out or on later cars the voltage regulator.

I do not know if reverse polarity will damage the electric clock.
