While at the AACA Philadelphia meeting, I attended a seminar on chrome plating. Owner of business was very knowledgeable and I questioned him on plating pot metal which had details. He showed me some examples, and explained the process of stripping the old chrome, enhancing the detail, then chrome plating.

Impressed, I sent him some 1934 door handles. Just got them back, and very pleased with results. You’ve probably seen details wiped out by a plater, but these came out very nice.

Yes, it’s as expensive as all quality chrome is these days. Yes, it takes a few months.

I have no financial interest in this, just thought I’d pass along positive results.

The detail came out really nice.

Always good to find another quality plating source, thanks for passing it along.

I remember seeing the spray on chrome video with Leno, interesting, as he mentions might be an option for interior components…
