I’m trying to get the clutch adjusted on my 1932 Model 54 eight cylinder after a transmission/clutch rebuild. I found a Clutch Service Manual (PASB 73-5) on the Service Bulletin CDs for clutch Model 29AM. Is this the Model that is in my car, and is it the same one used for the 1933 eight cylinders?

    Thanks.

The clutch was rebuilt in a shop that does work for Mack trucks. Among other things, the pressure plate was resurfaced and a new lining was installed. I also know that great care was taken to adjust the tips of the fingers into the same plane. So far, either the transmission shifts, but the clutch slips upon shifting, or after “adjustment,” the gears grind very badly upon shifting.

    Joe,

You are correct, the clutch is a Long Model 29AM. The thickness of the lining should not exceed .130 inches. A bit thinner would be better.
