    When I take my car out, I try to take items I might need in case of a breakdown, especially items that would not be readily available on a modern tow truck. For example, I bring a spare 6V battery and cables, as I suspect most new tow trucks could not jump start a 6V car.

    I noticed in the latest Hemmings Classic Car that Milwaukee now offers a tire inflator that is powered by their rechargeable batteries, as used in their cordless power tools. Handy to have in case a tire goes down while one the road, and you don’t have to power it off of the car’s electrical system. I ordered one for $69.00 from Home Depot. I have the batteries and chargers for my power tools anyway.
