I am getting close to starting the engine in my 1932 Model 54 Club Brougham, which has not run since 1994.

The head was off, and is now back on with new head gasket, along with all the ancillaries. Water pump, fuel pump, gas tank, UUR2 carb have all been professionally restored.

New coolant and oil, etc…. in place.

Does anyone have advice for me as far as a first time startup procedure goes?

Would appreciate any tips from those who have “been there”!

    Thanks,

    Adam Ellis

I would crank it with the main coil wire off till it builds oil pressure on the guage, then just fire it off. It should be fine. The series 54 is my favorite of the 366 cid cars. They steer, stop, and shift like a car from the 60’s. I’m quite sure you will enjoy it. Post a few photos please.

Thanks for the response. Thanks also for the encouraging words about the cars potential. I hope to get it running well enough to find out for myself !

I’ll try to post a picture
