Need some photos and information on the linoleum/vinyl flooring that went into the Travelodge trailers.

    Hello Loyd,

You can do a parts search in “Parts & Services” (6th item down under member pages), enter your year “1937” scroll down and you’ll see a listing for Battleship Linoleum under “Body & Trim.” You can go directly to the vendor’s website by clicking on their name. This is a great tool within the PAS website.

There’s nothing on the market that’s even close to what the factory used. You have to find something that is tasteful and appropriate. What was in there originally was very dark. Even if it were available today I would not use it. Ed

This summer, the PAS Annual Meeting will be in St. Louis, and one of the places we will be visiting will be the Fred Guyton collection on Tuesday June 6. Among the fabulous items in Mr. Guyton’s collection is a beautifully preserverd Pierce Arrow traver trailer. I believe it is the smaller size trailer, but it has intact most of its original interior furnishings. This will provide a great opportunity to get up close to an original.

Hope this provides an incentive to join us for what looks to be a great time at our annual meeting and tour.

I am restoring a Model A and recently removed the original flooring. It appears to have been Armstrong embossed inlaid linoleum 5352 (red). It also came in green (5351). Unfortunately it was discontinued by Armstrong in the 90s and I have not been able to find any current vendors who have any stock remaining.

Can you post a sample of the red? I have seen about half a dozen trailers, all with the “original” material, and they have been all the same. I have not seen the green or red, though I am sure they would have accommodated what ever anyone wanted on a special order. Surprisingly, the interiors varied more than one would expect. All the original cushions I have seen used the same green material to cover the cushions. Ed

Ed (or anyone who’s seen original cushions on a Pierce trailer), do you recall seeing any tags such as shown in the attached picture? I’m thinking these were attached to cushions for dinette in the trailer…it lists materials, but it’s very faint, can read 45% cotton and some percentage sisal, but that’s about it….unfortunately no date at the bottom…out of my Pierce memorabilia collection….

I have seen tags like yours on several different trailers. As it says on the tag, do not remove under penalty of law…….your in BIG trouble now! Ed

Is THAT why I hear sirens coming? Thanks for confirming it’s off a trailer cushion. I’ll serve my time!

In real life, it’s the retailer that isn’t supposed to remove the tag, once you get the pillow home you can do with it what you wish…..
