There are TWO ads for 1935 P-A headlamp lenses on eBay.
There were THREE, but I advised some of our PAS buddies about them and one was snatched.
One of the lenses is $300 and the other for under $100, BUT it the offering ENDS SOON.
Check them out!
Peter
How big are the headlamps on the Series 80 and 81 cars?
This one sure looks similar.
Peter, thanks for the heads up. It looks like a single bidder got the 2nd one for the starting bid of 300.
The link to the other lens says it is 7 1/2″ dia, smaller than ’35 Pierce unfortunately. There is yet another listing for a multibeam for $87 but it is only 7″. Oh well. Fortunately I am only worried about spares and hope the winning bidder was someone who doesn’t have a glass lens.
Craig,
I believe that the headlamp Lenes on the Series 80 & 81 are different sizes.
The Series 80 runs Bausch & Lomb, 8-⅜” lenses (not the B&L STAR lenses).
I DK the size of those on the Series 81, but I believe that they are smaller.
Peter
I believe the B&L STAR lenses are correct for 1926 forward: 8-3/8 for Series 80, 9-1/4 for Series 33 & 36, 8-1/8 for Series 81 w/fender headlights.
Pre-1926, Series 32 & 33 used B&L (no star) 9-1/4, and Series 80 8-3/8 (no star)
George,
For Series 36 Fender lights 9 1/4″ B&L Star lenses, not 6 1/4″ (typo?). I think Don Benham told me his Bracket Headlights on his Series 81 are 9 1/4″ B&L. The Bracket Headlights on my ’27 S 36 runabout are 11″ B&L Star.
Dave, good catch! Thank you. It was a typo, and I edited to 9-1/4. The numbers I provided above are for fender-mounted headlights.
George,
I included the drum headlights to add to your vast knowledge. Maybe it will overflow……..
