Besides reporting on NPR, my sister is involved with the Women’s Suffrage (right to vote) Museum and she sent me some pictures from the late 1910’s and teens.
A lot of the women who were involved were well know and wealthy so I had here send me some pictures with cars.
I thought this car looks like it might be a 1910 48-SS. Can anyone verify? The picture is from 1913.
It is not a Pierce-Arrow.
The car may be a 1909 Velie Model A five passenger touring.
It looks a little 1910 Cadillac like, though the eyelid on the
front fender doesn’t fit and the demountable rims are strange on any
1910 car in this price bracket ($1,600-$1,800). The hubcaps look
Cadillac as they used aluminum with an insert. The headlights look
Gray and Davis. The round piece above the hood former is typical
Cadillac and 110″ Wheelbase looks right ( Same as ’09 Velie). It
would be nice to see more of the car!”
