motor oil for 1932 model 54

I need to know what type of motor oil should I use for my vehicle, also I need the original gauges beside the speedometer and clock those are original. The mechanic where my vehicle was been work on change them he stated they were not working I didnt know any better.

Unless you are certain that the engine is clean inside particularly the oil passages in the crankshaft, use SAE 30 non-detergent motor oil. Detergent motor oil can loosen sludge and some of it can plug an oil passage leading to bearing failure.

If you are certain the engine is clean inside use SAE 20/50 oil.
