What is the purpose of the oil bypass that is sitting on the right side of the engine block, close to the oil cooler? What should I be concerned about it?
This is to a v 12 engine
Mine is an Eight but I believe it serves the same function on a 12. It is set up to bypass the oil filter if it becomes clogged.
Hi Guys,
NO – it is to bypass the oil COOLER if IT becomes clogged. All oil goes thru the filter, then the cooler, or if the cooler is clogged or purposely blocked, thru the bypass.
Cheers,
Bob
Thank you!
