OPEN CAR LAP ROBE RAIL

Hi all,

I have come across a soft lap robe rail with matching straps. The rail apears to be made like a belt. leather with buckles on both ends to fit the car as well as thickness of the robe. It has flush mounting hardware on each end. Correct for an open car??

The odd thing is that it comes with matching leather hand stramps with matching hardware. The hardware does have an extra hook on it for hanging things.

Does anyone know if the open cars actually had hand straps, and if the robe rails were only a braided rope of sorts or does this leather belt style seem to be correct also?
