There is a 1926 P-A sedan on the San Francisco craigslist its a basket case, asking…. $8000….Ed

It’s in Willows, ~130 miles north of SF. 8 photos but none of engine compartment, although the water manifold plate is in the front seat. Appears to have been a coach series 7-passenger sedan. From the photos, it’s a parts car unless there’s a significant stash of small bits. Looks like a ’49-50 Ford steering wheel…
The last photo shows the engine number which may be 8013798 though the last digit is difficult to read. This engine number does not appear in the vehicle register though the car might be listed by the VIN only.
Interesting…it appears to me that it has fenders built for dual side mounts. I don’t believe I’ve ever seen a Series 80 with side mounts.
I’m sure some of our resident experts have a photo?

By engine number, the car is a 1926. It does not appear in the Master Vehicle Register. I’ll see that it is added.
This is the first Series 80 with sidemount spares I’ve seen.
However, the Salesman’s Data Book does list a Sidemount spare option.
The option is written as: ‘Tire wells in Fenders, including luggage rack on rear’. Price: $150.00
This car also has an odd crossbar fender brace between the front fenders. it is not like the Drum Headlight
crossbar.
An interesting find. The ad states: 98% complete.. if so, I’d have to believe it has a complete engine.. it at least has enough of an engine to show the engine serial number..

It has a very odd steering wheel and I like the rear-seat-mounted bumper.
Of particular interest are the Duct-Tape door closures and the front seat mounted cylinder block cooling chamber cover (that looks pretty flat).
I can only imagine the condition of the engine considering I believe that there are engine manifolds on the floor of the front section.
It definitely is a restoration project.
Steering wheel resembles a Lincoln Zephyr-Continental.
