Hi all,
Not much to report this week. Alot of sanding and straightening. My toy restoration guy turned out the first prototype of the rubber part that sits between the trunk rack and pivoting bolt. The boys at the shop picked it apart just a little. The toy guy had no problem with that. “thats why I made a prototype”. All you hands on guys, have the patience of saints. I sure wish I had a bit more.
The accessory vacuum arrived as well as the nickel fire extinguisher. Some of these extra, non car mounted accesories are quite cool/fun to have.
Hope you all have a great weekend.
OH! Does anyone know who makes the rubber that lines the botton of the windshields?

The vacuum.
Once it is all cleaned and polished it will look quite cool. I will laminate accesorie page and attach it to the piece.
Here is the Pyrene fire extinguisher. It too was an option. Most of these came in a brass finish. The Nickel finish was two dollars more. Of course, Pierce A listed the Nickel one as their option. It needs a little clean and polishing. It will be great.
While you are doing the rebuild/restoration, find a nice place that is easily accessible, but out of the way for a 2 1/2 pound HALON fire extinguisher. Don’t waste your money and risk your car on a dry chemical extinguisher. I’d try to find a place under the second cowl, or in the trunk area ? not sure, But a Halon fire extinguisher is required equipment in every one of my cars, both antique/collector cars, and modern . And in my car-hauler trailer.

Oh, any chance you can gets some reprints made of that ’29 accessory catalog ?? I’d love to have a copy, and would be glad to reimburse you for your expenses making and mailing the copy.
Thanks. Greg
Richard,
I am working on making some decals for my Morgan. If you have any on your car or accessories, if you wold take a photo and the measurements to me, I’ll try, not promise, to reproduce them.
Bill
Bill,
Thanks. I will look at all the decals. Both the vacuum and Extinguisher have either brass tags, woven in mark, or are impressed into the metal. no decals on either. Thank you for the most generous offer though!
Greg,
I am only cleaning and polishing the extinguishers. I have no intention of filling and using them. Its just a cool thing to have to show with the car.
Rick
This is my 1929-32 Majestic 66 car radio. Currently under restoration.
Richard,
Here’s a link to Amerex which sells the Halon (and Halotron) extinguishers mentioned by Greg Long.
We carry two in our P-A.
Good luck with your restoration, is the plan to have it finished by Buffalo next July?

Thanks for the link.
Im not exaclty sure when the car will be done. I would love for it to be done. We thought 14-16 months, but the restoration is moving along faster than expected so far. To answer your question………….. a definate maybe. lolol
G’day
G’day Jak,
“New” Halon was discontinued here 15 or 20 years ago, too, and replaced with Halotron. The Amerex Halon extinguishers contain “reclaimed” or recycled Halon, recovered from old Halon units swapped-out for new Halotron units. There was a lengthy string of posts on the PAS message board a few years back regarding very sad car fires and the much more effective Halon & Halotron extinguishers which you could search if interested.
Enjoy your warm weather! Half inch of snow here last night and the highway department wasted no time salting our roads and bridges, so our P-A is now officially in Winter hibernation until the Spring rains wash it all away next year.
Best regards, Stu Blair
