Does anyone know if parts from Studebaker in 1932 and 1933 exchange with Pierce Arrow cars in 1932 and 1933? Thanks Richard.
They do not.
Thank you Mr. Johnson for keeping me out of trouble. I like to read the history of these car Companies. Studebaker owned or helped many car companies stay in business and Pierce-arrow was one of them back then. Regards Richard.
As a member of the Antique Studebaker Club,I noticed Dave Murray’s ad
for water manifolds for 1928-1932 Presidents.John Cislac is offering
Leaf Spring Shackle Pin Set(’29-’32),new valves and valve springs.Dave
also offers the shackle kit(Fafnir)for most ’28-’32 President and
Commander.I’d be surprised if these products didn’t start out life as
Pierce reproductions.
I cannot addrss the 1932-33 issue. However, I purchased engineering notes from Pierce-Arrow in Orleans County, N.Y. (probably in the late 60’s or early 70’s) that showed the interchangable parts between the 1929 small Pierce, and the Studebaker President. Some people were not happy about that at the time, but that is the way it was. I think I gave all that stuff to Bernie, although I don’t remember for sure.
