Does anyone know if this site is legit? They offer a 1936 model 1601 for sale, I think this was a member car from St Cloud, Minn. Beleive car was sold at Barrett-Jackson Oct 2024 for 22K and is listed again but no price listed, Contact option on site does not connect, that’s why I wonder if legit. Also very few photos of the vehicle. One photo of I beleive gas tank but can’t tell what is going on there. Anyone seen or know about the site or vehicle?
I’m not familiar with this website but apparently they have listed quite a few cars over the last year in live auctions where you bid on line. Per the website, cars sold will have to pay 4.5 % of the selling price or a minimum of $450.Presumably this lower fee than that of known auction companies entices would be sellers to “test the waters “ to see if any interest develops in their offering. After the auction has ended and you elect not to purchase the car ( a feature I find unique) you still owe Clasiq $450. The 1601 I saw had been listed in a prior auction which ended in April 2024 at a little over $18k and was not sold( as were most of the cars listed). Perhaps this isn’t the car you were talking about selling in October 2024 for $22k at Barrett Jackson. The unsold 1601 had a goodly amount of pictures which you indicated weren’t available for the car you are inquiring about.
Having sold a vehicle offered at no reserve ( in the hopes that at least two bidders will have a strong interest!) at Barrett Jackson, you are pretty much assured that the buyer will come up with the money. Not sure what the point is of auctions like those offered by Clasiq where buyers nor sellers have little skin in the game.
Thanks
believe it was same car s/n 2215396. Tried to contact clasiq.com but no reply as to current price if really for sale.
