I took a lovely, yet fruitless drive to Eastern Pennsylvania to look at the Pierce parts mentioned in the Emporium. The gentleman was pleasant and interesting, but there were not a lot of interesting parts unless you want wheels (maybe), rims (perhaps) and assorted steel under carriage parts (possible).
He had a number of possible Pierce starters / generators but they have been sitting out in the elements for years! It is a serious mis-mash of old parts. He has a huge collections of old cars, but not a single Pierce-Arrow.
I do not wish to rain on his parade, but he is 1.5 hours away from any interstate and it was a 12 hour round trip for exploration only. So in this case, it is really caveat emptor.
Peter–
THis kind of information is reallyl helpful, and you have put the whole matter very tactfully.
Thanks,
Arnold
